但是锥形细胞为什么会进化出现，琳至今还是不懂。

想到这里，琳的挖掘者们已经吃了半只变形虫了，挖掘者细胞数量激增，已经到达了699个。
琳开始实施它的想法，首先是能量与食物的储存。琳开始试图让一个吃的十分饱，几乎要分裂的挖掘者继续吃下去，并阻止它分裂。
如何阻止分裂？琳也不清楚，分裂都是自行产生的，所以琳只不过在思绪中不停的控制它，禁止它做与琳的想法不符的事情。
似乎成功了，这个挖掘者没有分裂，而是继续在那大吃变形虫的尸体。
接下来，是储存，琳开始试着让它停止消化食物，而是将食物留在体内。
成功了，挖掘者体内的食物并没被消化，而是被堆放在一个位置。
没想到这么简单呢，琳感到有些开心。
接下来，琳让这个细胞一直不停的吃东西，只消化自己活动所需要的那一部分，而多出来的并不用来分裂，而是储藏在身体之中，这也导致了这个细胞的体型越来越大，它吃了一会后，就几乎有别的细胞的两倍了。
而然，储藏这些食物也会导致这个细胞变得很不灵活，行动迟缓，就连锯食物的动作也变得难以执行。

这会导致它甚至连进食都变得困难，但这个问题对琳来说再简单不过了，让别的细胞帮它就好，用普通的挖掘者帮助这个储藏食物的细胞收集食物，而这个细胞只需要负责吃就行了。
慢慢的，这个细胞产生了有趣的变化。
随着只吃不工作不断进行，它外膜的锯齿开始慢慢消失，琳知道这一现象被称为退化。
同时它的体型变得十分肥大，几乎有别的挖掘者细胞的三倍，它体内储存的那些变形虫的碎块也被分解，但却不是消化，而是被转换成一种类似水一样，但是却更加粘稠的液体。
琳知道，这些液体叫做油。
这个细胞将吃进去的食物转化成油，并将其储存在体内，这些油方便携带，貌似所含能量更高，所占空间更少，比直接储存食物的效果更好。
琳不知道它们是怎么形成的，这不是琳所控制的，而是细胞自己所发生的。
琳并不是100%的在控制细胞，像是分裂等一些行为，都是细胞进行运作，油也是它们自己决定制造的，看来细胞中好像还有一些比较深的奥秘，琳所不知道的事情。
在逐渐增加智慧的情况下，琳可以完全掌握这一切。
琳给这种细胞起了个名字——储藏者。
琳也可以让储藏者分裂，但是储藏者分裂出来的新细胞体内是没有油的，需要吃入食物才能将其转化为油。
不错的感觉，只要有多一些，那么就不怕饿了，不过这种细胞也不能太多，毕竟无法作战，行动速度也很慢。
进食在继续进行……过了没多久，变形虫的尸体大概只剩下了10%左右，琳的细胞群落几乎恢复了原来的数量，储藏者的数量也有了三十个，它们体内的大量油脂可以让琳的群落在无进食的情况下游动相当远的一段距离了。
不过琳现在最想要的，就是重新获得注酸者和锥形细胞。
琳最先是试着让挖掘者进化成这两者之一，用的还是老方法，不停的在思绪中想象让这个细胞变成那样。
